Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Assistant Urban Designer to work in our Leamington Spa office. 

 

This role offers experience in a wide range of project types spanning from large scale mixed use Masterplanning and town centre regeneration strategies to housing layouts for residential developers. Our strength is in its multi-disciplinary team approach which is supported by a wide range of internal technical disciplines which support the design team. The design team consists of a balance of urban design, architecture and landscape architecture professionals who work closely together on projects. This is further supported by experts in visualisations, CAD and graphics.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will need to have excellent graphic skills in order to support senior members of the team in preparing a range of high quality plans and graphic outputs using AutoCAD, M-Colour, the Adobe Suite and 3-D software including Sketch-up. You will undertake site visits so a driving license is preferred. Design and Access Statements or other forms of reports will be produced using both Word and DTP packages including InDesign. You will also need to be able to demonstrate the ability to produce written reports in English.

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • You will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and will hold a Master’s degree in Urban Design.
  • You will be able to demonstrate some practical experience in Urban Design, Architecture and/ or Landscape Architecture, preferably gained in a consultancy environment.
