Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

 

 

 

Wood is recruiting for a Bid Manager to Manage the sales process within Amec Foster Wheeler and perform business orientated tasks such as Bid Management in order to meet on-going project, customer and business needs. Contribute to the achievement of this by managing or helping with the preparation of winning proposals and tenders primarily at the Harwell Office. Also undertake a range of business development activities to improve our bid and marketing collateral and customer relationship management. Graduates or those with relatively modest experience would be considered if the candidate can demonstrate a passion for gaining experience in bid management and are able to show excellent organisational and writing skills.  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Produces fit-for-purpose deliverables such as prequalification documents, expressions of interest and comprehensive proposal documentation for customers
  • Pro-actively interacts and collaborates with bid teams, partners, suppliers, and customer contacts as appropriate to ensure contributions to the documents referred to above are focused on customer requirements and received on time
  • Supports the development of the business by preparing high quality bid and marketing collateral and ensuring they are readily available to all Bid Managers
  • Assists with marketing communications and customer relationship management
  • Behaviours in keeping with Performance Indicator Framework Profile
  • Manages a portfolio of bids ensuring that:
    • All appropriate due diligence is carried out
    • Appropriate technical resource is available for the bid/contract
    • Appropriate profit levels are assured and agreed with the Business Manager
    • Commercial Terms and Conditions have been reviewed
  • Identification of customer, supplier and other key contacts and the establishment of viable business relationships
  • Pro-actively interacts and collaborates with partners, suppliers, customers, and other organisations contacts as appropriate
  • Managing the Sales Funnel for the Business, monitoring and updating sales force, as appropriate
  • Liaise with Support Staff to ensure that sales files, project job numbers, and invoices are created and maintained as appropriate

 

 

 

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Honours Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution is desirable
  • Pro-active and effective verbal communication skills
  • High level of writing skills, with ability to vary style effectively to suit target audience and meet specific requirements
  • Very effective time-management skills
  • Demonstration of personal behaviours in keeping with Amec Foster Wheeler governing principles
  • Good general commercial and financial knowledge
