Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure is currently recruiting for a Project Manager. This position can be based in Europe or Kennesaw, GA as there are positions available for both locations. 

 

The objective is to produce a result (project management, data analysis and conclusions, as-built final report, recommendations, etc.) which satisfies the client's needs. Perform related responsibilities as assigned to oversee and manage multiple concurrent construction tasks in the field and project management. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigation of existing systems / operations and identify equipment and processes for design modification
  • Be familiar with potential safety and health hazards associated with project activities and advise manager of construction of procedures to mitigate
  • Design of Military and Commercial fuel systems including pipeline receipt stations, truck loading / offloading positions, aboveground / underground storage facilities, hydrant pumping and distribution systems, waste fuel recovery, emergency fuel shutoff (EFSO) and terminal automation / fuel system controls
  • Design of facility HVAC and plumbing systems considered a plus
  • Design of AFFF fire protection systems considered a plus
  • Preparation of construction drawings and specifications for Military & Commercial Fuel Systems
  • Ability to work independently as well as support and assist project management team
  • Provide mentoring and project level technical guidance / direction to junior project level engineers
  • Be responsible for Project level management, oversight of design team operations, logistics, schedules and reporting as required to advance project progress
  • Provides technical supervision and assistance to insure project activities are technically valid and results are coordinated for project continuity and control
  • Acting as a working manager, serves to coordinate all technical activities in an efficient manner to insure that the project requirements and deadlines are met
  • Coordinate technical activities with other professionals and field personnel
  • Maintain up to date records including correspondence, design direction, progress submittals, schedules, meeting documents, shop drawing review, test reports, as-built records and other documents necessary to document engineering activities
  • Coordinate the preparation of required interim and final deliverables for projects in his or her charge
  • Prepare and recommend scientifically valid and appropriate quality assurance measures for technical assignment
  • Act as liaison with other professionals and field personnel to accomplish the efficient and smooth implementation of project directives

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or construction related field
  • 10 to 15 years of design/construction experience including 5 years of US DoD Fuels
  • Valid PE Registration
  • Demonstrated experience completing Military and Commercial fuel system design, startup and commissioning of facility improvements
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation construction specifications and drawings for Military and Commercial applications
  • Experience with facility HVAC and plumbing systems design considered a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • A valid passport is required
  • Ability to work on US military bases is required
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
