Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to recruit a Contracts Engineer for KNPC New Acid Gas Removal Plant (AGRP) based in Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery, Kuwait.


  • Established record of accomplishment of preparation o contract documents including technical & commercial proposals, bill of quantities and form of tender
  • Prepares / reviews tender documents for various contracts / agreements and prequalification documents in proper format to ensure full conformity with specified company procedures
  • Assists user departments in interpretation of contract clauses as needed
  • Prepare draft of particular conditions in line of general condition of contracts and Project specific requirement, preparation of pre-qualification documents
  • Evaluation of contractors’ claims / variations and generating claim reports for management review an proposal
  • Prepare response for Contractor’s correspondence and claims
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for contracts, detailing recommendations, and submitting for management review and approval
  • Assist Project Controlling team for administration, attend contract progress meeting, preparation of variation orders and extension of contracts and claim evaluation with in contract limit
  • Participating in pre-tender meetings, kick off meetings and any other contracts related meetings
  • Overseeing all departmental arrangements related to the award of contracts. Checking final contract documents of the projects
  • Well versed with preparation of different types of contract documents including technical & commercial proposals
  • Management of contracts by rendering contractual support on resolving disputes, evaluation of claims, variations and settlement of final account
  • Good analysis and checks, drafting of contract conditions based on general conditions of the contract and project specific requirement

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from recognized University
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the refinery and petrochemical industries
  • Prior Middle East experience an asset
