  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Construction Engineer Electrical to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait. In this role you will be be assigned to assist in managing delivery of EPC work scope, under guidance of the Construction Superintendent / Manager, as part of a multi discipline team considering site safety program, schedule and project goals. To lead a discipline PMC construction team to effectively coordinate, monitor and facilitate the work of an EPC Contractor.

     

    • Provide safety leadership to construction supervisors and engineers as well as the EPC Contractor employees. Ensure all Company HSE requirements are implemented and adhered to
    • Participate in regular safety walks and toolbox talks for specific area of responsibility
    • Coordinate with Construction Managers / Superintendents and EPC Contractors for interface management
    • Coordinate with site stakeholders to facilitate execution in a designated area and specific scope of work
    • Monitor EPC contractor’s method statements and construction plans, equipment and labor resources to enable efficient progress of the work scope
    • Provide effective and practical construction input to constructability reviews
    • Develop close working relationships with all assigned construction team members and EPC Contractor’s supervisors. Proactively work with all parties to enable project safety, quality and schedule objectives are achieved
    • Assist in the site engineering process so the EPC Contractors get adequate and accurate resolutions to site queries
    • Monitor and report on EPC Contractor’s QA/QC testing and compliance
    • Monitor EPC Contractor’s construction activities and schedules and identify areas of concern, mitigation and / or opportunities
    • Monitor the look ahead work plans to conformance with the overall schedules
    • Provide leadership for the weekly EPC coordination meeting for area of responsibility
    • To assist project management team by reporting on EPC Contractor’s activities which may have an effect on any delays, abortive work or potential claims
    • Become fully versed with the Electrical construction drawings and specifications

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum industrial experience: 12 years
    • Experience in similar position: 5 years
    • Should be familiar with the installation, testing & Pre Commissioning of both High voltage Equipment/Switchgear at transmission levels of 275KV / 132KV / 33 KV / 11KV / 6KV & 480V Low Voltage
    • Leadership and Team Building Skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of Refinery / Petrochemicals industries in handling construction work of major projects of value not less than US $ 500 million each
