Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Interface Engineer to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait. In this role you will be responsible to the management of construction interfaces between various EPC package contractors and with external parties to identify potential conflict in scope, responsibilities and prevent delays to the project schedule.


  • Anticipate and understand site interface demarcations on documents such as P&IDs, Plot Plans and Gas
  • Work with EPC Contractors to ensure interface responsibilities are understood and potential problems identified
  • Review detailed design documentation to assess consistency in the demarcation of interfaces
  • Focal point for EPC Contractors for all interfaces with other ZOR interfacing EPC contractors. Receive training in use of the Interface Management System and use the inter-EPC Contractor data as a reference
  • Prepare and conduct interface reviews with EPC Contractors in critical areas such as the main pipe racks, power distribution system and underground services
  • Issue regular interface management reports to PMC and customer management
  • Part of the day-to-day interface between the projects, project managers and engineering and construction teams
  • Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required
  • Participate in project reviews

Skills / Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Engineering graduate
  • Minimum 12 years’ post graduate experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the designation or as a Project Engineer involved with design and construction on a major project
  • Demonstrable construction experience
  • Experience in interfacing between design and construction, leadership and teambuilding skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
