Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Landscape Architect to work in our Reading office. We are seeking an exceptionally talent, chartered Landscape Architect to help us design over 500 hectares of multifunctional green space associated with the proposed third runway at Heathrow Airport - one of the UK's biggest ever construction projects.
The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, dynamic, award-winning landscape team which is passionate about creating captivating spaces that enrich people's lives and help to combat challenging environmental and social issues.
The expansion of Heathrow represents a unique opportunity to create a substantial legacy over 500 hectares of new and enhanced green space around the airport; including new public open space set within a rich tapestry of new and improved habitats and watercourses.
You will assist in developing design proposals, co-ordinating with others, attending meetings and undertaking consultation with stakeholders. The role requires proven design and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. You will assist in seeking technical input from other disciplines to deliver carefully considered, well integrated, world class solutions for this extremely high profile project. You will also be an excellent staff manager; supporting the project lead in managing and guiding more junior members of the team to produce high quality work.
