Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Architectural Engineer to work out of our Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia office. This role will be based on the Marjan onshore gas plant project and is expected to run for twelve months.

 

Saudi Aramco has selected Wood to develop a FEED for a mega program in the Onshore Eastern Province surrounding Tanajib, Safaniyah and Ju’aymah in Saudi Arabia. The increased crude and gas production will demand the initial expansion of an onshore GOSP (gas oil separation plant) at Tanajib, a greenfield 2.5bnscf (billion standard cubic feet) gas plant, together with NGL (natural gas liquid) expansion at Wasit. This will all be supported by a new cogeneration power plant expected to generate 750 Mw (megawatts) for both onshore and offshore compression, together with power for onshore utilities.

 

  • Coordinate proactively with the supervisors in order to be fully aware of latest applicable codes and standards, plus keeping assigned Drafting persons informed
  • Ensure that the drafting activities are carried out within the established time schedule and within allocated budget of man-hours
  • Coordinate regularly with the assigned Drafting Team to ensure uniformity in design and drafting activities
  • Check drawings against basis and mark-ups before issuance to the supervisors for further quality checking
  • Submit the drawings to the supervisors for checking before issue
  • Coordinate 3D modelling activities of the team and with other lead discipline designers to maintain the clash free model
  • Report to the Lead or Area Designer, the main functions of the role will be to ensure all drafting activities to be completed within budgeted man-hours
  • Promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork

Skills / Qualifications

  • B.S. Architecture with prior experience working on large energy projects
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience
  • working knowledge with 2D and 3D drafting / modelling using AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Working knowledge in PDMS or PDS link software (such as Frameworks Plus, and Project Architect, Triforma or 3D Studio Viz / Max for Architectural Works) is a plus
  • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
  • Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
