Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Sr. / Lead Construction Engineer - Heavy lift to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait to engage in the coordination, monitoring and overseeing the daily execution of Contractor construction activities, in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment.

 

  • Review, comment and agree EPC Contractor lifting plans, procedures and rigging studies
  • Understand and responsible for managing the site safety rules for the designated plant areas assigned to each EPC Contractor
  • Understand the EPC Contractor scope to be executed including all the interfaces and safety requirements
  • Ensure the Contractor work scope is managed, controlled and risk assessed by the Permit to Work
  • Check competency of crane operatives, riggers and supervisors as part of random on-site inspections/audits
  • Participate in site safety audits regarding work execution, permits, work site standards and workforce knowledge of the work
  • Ensure all lifting and rigging preparatory work is completed prior to commencement of work
  • Carry out random visual inspection, check condition and review certification of cranes and rigging equipment
  • Attend contractor progress meetings and be able to report on any impact to cost and schedule
  • Conduct work site inspections and ensure quality of work meets contract standards 

 

 

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • BSc. University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of industrial experience in oil and gas related projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position as Senior Field Engineer / Senior Construction Engineer in a multidiscipline workforce
  • Worked on Multi-million projects
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • Fluency in English
