Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Building Services Engineer in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will provide building services support to the project management team that has proven expertise in managing large, complex projects with a global reach.

 

We have been awarded contracts by our client for the provision of engineering and project management services for their Unconventional Gas Development Program. The program covers current field development in three different parts of Saudi Arabia with potential further field developments to be added later as the program develops and expands. The Unconventional Gas Development Program is focused on increasing gas production via the development of shale gas and tight gas resources in the Kingdom. The new sources of gas are intended to displace middle and heavy distillate fuels currently used in power generation within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

 

  • Provide Building Services Engineering design related to Oil & Gas Processing Plant Facilities
  • Develop Building Services Design Criteria, specifications, and equipment lists
  • Develop utilities, heating and ventilation requirements
  • Prepare design calculations
  • Coordinate the building services design activities with other disciplines
  • Deliver a fit for purpose building services design for construction
  • Assist with the development of Building Services Flow Sheets, PFDs and P&IDs
  • Write specifications and contract documents as well as review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
  • Assist in manpower plans for capital projects as well as provide estimates for engineering output to appropriate clients
  • Adhere to project budget and schedules
  • Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships
  • Coordinate and work with project team members
  • Perform all assigned work to agreed standards for safety, health environment and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance
  • Participate in and advice on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training/inductions and documentation review
  • Verify that all designs are to required standards and that the objectives of the project are met
  • Verify that the works is completed to the agreed schedule

Skills / Qualifications

  • Graduate of Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of ten years of related experience focusing on O&G projects
  • At least five years of previous FEED / Detailed Engineering of Building Services Project experience in Saudi or GCC region
  • Working knowledge of Aramco Building code and standards
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
