Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has been awarded a large PMC Duqm Refinery project in Oman which is expected to run for around 4 years. We are expected to start mobilizing successful candidates by the end of Q4 2017. Successful candidate will be based in Madrid, Spain and once work at the EPC location has been completed, employee will be transferred to the Oman site to work on a residential status assignment if requested by the client.

Position will be on single residential status.

 

  • Communicate commercial / procurement and contractual risks, threats and issues to both Wood and client
  • Ability to work alone and in a team to achieve objectives and deliver result
  • Problem solving at a strategic level, working with others to reach a resolution
  • Establish and maintain long-term working relationships with client and EPC Contractors
  • Support the commercial teams in the commercial management of the EPC Contractors contracts
  • Negotiate contract changes, handle claims, procurement activities and ensuring that the agreements with the EPC Contractors meet client contracting requirements
  • Intervene, analyse, manage and resolve business conflicts between Wood, client and the EPC Contractors
  • Provide both advice and support other teams in terms of the legal threats and obligations place

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Recent experience in PMC / EPC organisations in the field of Refinery / Petrochemical industries
  • Must have handled contract administration and procurement work for major projects of value not less than US$200 million
  • Extensive exposure to high value complex engineering projects
  • Track record in leading a commercial team
  • Previous Amec Foster Wheeler experience preferred but not essential
  • Competent with MS Office, standard business software and the use of metrics to monitor and report on all tasks in progress
  • Ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, and provide appropriate advice and guidance
  • Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required.
