Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis to be based in our Darlington office.The key purpose of the role is to ensure NASP mgmt. have timely, accurate, high quality cost information ensuring appropriate informed mgmt. decisions can be made. While providing efficient and effective accounting services to the wider Business community.


Responsibilities & Duties 

  • To support the Finance Accountant in the provision of the finance function
  • To support the Finance Department and Business by providing accurate and timely accounting processes
  • To comply with internal and external audit requirements
  • Liaising closely with our offshore GBS partner with all aspects of financial support provided
  • Ensure compliance with Wood policies and procedures
  • Assistance in the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts for NASP
  • Provide monthly reports and information to the Business.
  • Review and prepare internal recharges to the Business in a timely manner
  • Review and provide assistance in the balance sheet Reconciliations
  • Provide Information and reports to the business as and when required
  • Build strong working relationships with our offshore GBS partner
  • Help develop robust financial processes and procedures and help facilitate change
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as and when required.



Skills / Qualifications

  • AAT / Part Qualified.
  • Must be able to work under own initiative without constant supervision.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Systems.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels.
  • Adaptable and able to quickly learn new systems and procedures.
