Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent  Construction Engineer - Piping to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait to engage in the coordination, monitoring and overseeing the daily execution of Contractor construction activities, in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment.


  • Understand and ensure the EPC Contractor and Sub-contractors adhere to the site safety rules within the defined plant area
  • Understand, review and handle responsibility for the EPC Contractor's scope, including all relevant interfaces and safety requirements
  • Ensure the EPC Contractor work scope is coordinated, controlled and risk assessed by the Permit to work
  • Participate in site safety audits regarding work execution, permits, work site standards and workforce knowledge of the work
  • Ensure all preparatory work is completed prior to commencement of work
  • Review and comment on method statements and risk assessments
  • Pipe and support installation conforms to relevant AFC documentation.
  • Ensure accurate progress reporting of physical scope completion
  • Attend contractor progress meetings
  • Respond to, and evaluate field changes with assessment of any impact on cost and schedule
  • Conduct work site inspections and ensure quality of work meets contract standards
  • Participate in joint walk downs of systems / sub-system handover for pre-commissioning and commissioning teams
  • Provide support to commissioning department for functional commissioning

Skills / Qualifications

  • BSc University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of industrial experience in oil and gas related projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position as Senior Field Engineer / Senior Construction Engineer in a multidiscipline workforce
  • With experience working on multi-million projects
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • Fluency in English
