Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer - Control & Instrumentation to work with the engineering team based at Kolkata office. He / She will be reporting to the lead C&I engineer and the roles & responsibilities will include:


  • Prepare Instrument Index from P&ID's using INTools (SPI) Instrument Index Module and / or MS-Excel
  • Understand Wood standards and Engineering Procedures
  • Prepare I / O List
  • Prepare datasheet for various Instruments including sizing calculations using SPI and other Software
  • Prepare Wiring Diagram & loop Drawing, Hook-up (Installation Detail) using SPI and other Software
  • Guide designers in preparing Equipment Layout, Instrument Equipment Schedule, Instrument Location Plan Drawing, Fire & Gas Detection layout, Motor co-ordination interconnection Diagram, Block Diagram, JB Schedule, Cable Schedule, Cable Tray Layout, Trench Layout using PDS / PDMS 3D Modeling
  • Finalize Cable Routing Plan, Tray Layout, sizing and loading calculations
  • Develop of Level Sketches, other hook up drawings, and estimation of MTOs etc.
  • Support the objectives of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and Information Security Management Policy by adhering to applicable Procedures and Work Practices while fulfilling of duties
  • Assist in design and detailed engineering for DCS, PLC and F&G Systems

Skills / Qualifications

  • BE / B.Tech. in Instrumentation
  • 5+ years of experience in Refineries / Petrochemicals / Oil & Gas sector
  • Ability to perform the roles defined in "responsibilities" section with minimal supervision
