Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Document Control Specialist to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait. The Project Document Controller reports on a day to day basis to Project Management but is functionally responsible to the Manager of Document Control for the effective maintenance of Document Control Systems. Experience in all aspects of Document Control as related to typical projects undertaken by AMEC, including the use of computerized systems. Ability to interface with Client's personnel and to contribute to the overall Project Management.


  • Maintain and track of documents
  • Report Document Review 
  • Scan in all relevant new documents
  • Check that documents are accurate
  • Present and file documents and drawings
  • Maintain hard copy information
  • Issue and distribute controlled copies of information
  • Manage and maintain SharePoint and Convero Document Control System
  • Provide advice on procedures of issue and methods in accessing the system
  • Ensure all documents are as up to date as possible within electronic filing systems
  • Read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents


Allied Occasional Duties


  • In conjunction with the Manager of Document Control, review the Company Corporate Document Control Procedures and amend as necessary to meet specific project requirements
  • Issuing and distributing controlled documents for other Al-Zour Contracts during absences
  • Control the numbering, filing, sorting and retrieval of electronically stored or hard copy documentation produced by technical teams, projects or departments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school or above
  • Strong database and communication skills
  • Experience with document control packages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Utilizing a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases
  • A comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, organize and delegate work schedules
  • Proven decision-making skills
  • Able to react quickly and effectively when dealing with challenging situations
  • Assisting departments with queries on documentation requirements & submissions
