Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking the services of a Quality Control Engineer with experience in the onshore oil and gas petrochemical/refinery industries. The role will be based in Ince, Cheshire for approximately 8 months. starting january 2018.

Work Scope

  • Perform project specific assurance activities relevant to pre-fabrication.
  • Approval of External Provider Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Promotes a positive Quality Culture through the working environment.
  • Create and manage quality deliverables.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Project Management personnel on the application of the Quality Management System in relation to Project Execution activities.
  • Review Supplier / Sub-contractor Fabrication / Certification Dossiers on an ongoing basis and prior to release.
  • Monitoring of External Provider fabrication and testing activities via site visits and planned audits.
  • Raise Non-conformance reports and expedite their close out, including monitoring of concession requests.
  • Liaise with on-site Certification Authorities, Notified Body and other third parties as required.
  • Liaise with senior site contract representative on a daily basis.
  • Provide feedback on Sub-contractor and their Sub-supplier performance upon request.


Skills / Qualifications

You ideally will have significant previous QC experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Process Plants industry and be time served, preferably in the relevant discipline.

  • Demonstrable qualification for planning, conducting and reporting internal audits form a recognised external body.
  • Experience in Quality Control for fabrication and construction activities.
  • broad knowledge of construction, fabrication and inspection techniques.
  • CSWIP 3.1 minimum required, 3.2 preferred.
  • Ability to be well organised and able to work on own initiative.
  • Commitment to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Comfortable with working away from home and have a fill clean driving license
