  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking for a competent Senior Construction Engineer - Insulation and Refractories to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait.

     

    In this role, you will be responsible to provide construction management and technical support to the project team for piping / pipeline coating, structure painting, thermal insulation of piping systems and equipment and internal refractory installation activities between various EPC package contractors, coordination of construction interfaces for Coating / Refractory / Insulation / Fireproofing to identify potential conflict in scope, responsibilities and prevent delays to the project schedule.

     

    • Understand work scope, schedule and project specification related to Coating / Refractory / Insulation / Fireproofing works
    • Follow EPC package contractor’s plans and strategies for the Coating / Refractory / Insulation / Fireproofing discipline based on the overall project execution plan and strategy
    • Work with EPC Contractors to ensure Coating / Refractory / Insulation / Fireproofing interface responsibilities are understood and potential problems identified
    • Focal point for PMC and EPC Contractors for all Coating / Refractory / Insulation / Fireproofing revision of Method Statement, Job hazard analysis, risk assessment and mitigation plan in consultation with HSSE team for key Coating / Refractory / Insulation activities
    • Review work front, progress and resource deployment against plan on weekly basis with EPC Contractors for timely completion of work against schedule. Identify potential threats to safety, quality and progress of work; recommend mitigating measures to site management and follow up for action
    • Ensure all standards, codes, procedures and manufacturers recommendations are met
    • Review and monitor EPC Contractor / Sub-contractors’ implementation of quality management systems to verify compliance to contract documentation and technical requirements
    • Responsible for Day to day site inspection activities of Coating and Insulation works
    • Assist in quality investigations and audits when required
    • Prepare punch list and follow up action to complete the work

    Skills / Qualifications

    • B.Sc. Engineering graduate in relevant field
    • Minimum 15 years’ post-graduate experience
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the designation or as a Project Engineer involved with design and construction on a major project
    • NACE, SSPC and / or ICorr Certification is an advantage
