Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an E&I Commissioning Engineer for one of its prestigious oil and gas project in UAE. Successful candidate will need to perform the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Review / approve commissioning procedures
  • Monitor commissioning activities
  • Liaise with operation personnel to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled before any systems / subsystem commissioned (vendor documents, FATs –SATs)
  • Approve / review tests procedures and method statements
  • Attend tool boxes
  • Approve method statements
  • Review / Approve DPRs and relevant installed quantities
  • Issue work permits to contractors
  • Supervise contractor performance in terms of progress, HSE and quality
  • Monitor contractors to adhere to site policies, regulations, HSE rules
  • Liaise interfaces internally (with other company disciplines) and externally (with operation personnel, vendors, third parties
  • Review / assess / approve site queries and authorize site modifications in coordination with PMT
  • Assist commissioning group and operations personnel assigned to the commissioning group at onshore and offshore locations; assist coordination and execution of the commissioning activities at onshore and offshore locations
  • Assist coordination liaison for all interfaces on site and with all integrity groups to ensure to ensure the project requirements and performance standards are achieved
  • Review Operational Test Procedures associated with the commissioning of instrument systems
  • Fire & gas system ICSS commissioning interface safety & controls Interface DCS VESDA system riser ESDV testing
  • Experience of ESD & F&G cause and effect testing, oil & gas processing equipment and plants
  • Provide input for the most effective use of vendors and assistance during CMS population
  • Execute tasks using CMS used on major projects ICAPS, GOC, CCMS ETC and review handover dossiers
  • Provide input to the development of the detailed plan and planning systems including reporting of progress; ensure that changes implemented during the commissioning activities are approved and documented
  • Provide review of TQ’s, EQ’s, and SI’s ensuring that they are included in the commissioning scope where applicable
  • Provide assistance and guidance in the preparation of requisitions, technical specifications for materials, equipment and consumable required to perform the commissioning scope of work

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Bachelor degree in any Engineering discipline would be acceptable
  • Must have practical hands-on field experience during all stages of project life construction, commissioning & start up, and be able to communicate with team leaders of a multi-discipline team
  • Be a team player who can provide valuable input during both planning and execution phase
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of ICSS control systems
