Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking to recruit for an E&I Commissioning Engineer to work on ZADCO SRP project in Denholm Yan fabrication yard in UAE for a period of approximately 18 months on a 6 days / week – 9hrs / day working cycle and then potential move to the Islands for a further few months to support commissioning offshore on a 6 weeks on 3 weeks off with 7days / week – 12hrs / day rotational cycle.

 

Job Purpose and Scope:

Leader for Electrical and Instrument system completion activities for SRP Project. Particular focus area will be to ensure that Electrical and Instrument System Completion activities, including testing and documentation, are performed and delivered as per contractual requirements both in the Fabrication Yard and at site.

 

Accountabilities:

 

Demonstrate personal HSE leadership and excellent HSE behavior at all times and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained. Perform as a safety leader through auditing, setting and exhibiting the highest standards

 

  • Support Commissioning Lead with all interfaces between electrical, instrument and control systems
  • Ensure that Contractor / Subcontractor are conducting Electrical and Instrument work safety and in accordance with all Permits to Work and safety practices, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO)
  • Assist Contractor with proper preparation of Electrical permits to work, and provide quality control for E&I job safety analysis submissions and LOTO work execution
  • Maintain close communications with Contractor and Subcontractor
  • Ensure that System Completion activities, including all required testing and documentation are performed and delivered as per contractual requirements
  • Conduct regular LOTO compliance and electrical safety inspections and rigorously enforces electrical LOTO policy
  • Support Instrumentation and Control team and facilities interfaces between Electrical and Instrument Teams
  • Support Construction Team with regards to electrical construction activities and support Safety Officers with expertise in safe work practices for electrical construction
  • Witness Electrical and Instrument testing and commissioning activities and sign off check sheets and punch list documentation for company
  • Review and comments on Commissioning Documentations and Procedures
  • Ensure that Contractor’s Red-Line drawings are accurate and kept up to date
  • Participate in loop checking
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as per the company requirements
  • Participate in construction, pre-commissioning, and pre-load out walk downs and punch listing

Skills / Qualifications

  • 15 years minimum experience on project teams in oil and gas market with field device and hardware controls scope
  • Electrical Engineering degree, equivalent training, and / or work experience
  • Through knowledge of pre-commissioning, commissioning practices and design details
  • Working knowledge of international codes, standards and specifications e.g. NEC, IEC, IEEE
  • Possesses good troubleshooting skills, knowledge on electrical equipment. System failures and HV / MV electrical systems
  • Must have experience with commissioning Gas Insulated Switchgear, MV & HV and must be thoroughly familiar with electrical safety codes
  • Good written and verbal communications skills and command of the English language
  • Must be qualified to obtain a CICPA and UAE work visa
  • Familiarity with completions database software (e.g. WINPCS, ICAPS, etc.)
