Overview / Responsibilities

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Study Manager for our Perth Mining and Minerals business.

The main purpose of this role is to manage the implementation of designated studies and consulting services with respect to content, presentation, communications, cost control, scheduling, internal review and audit, reporting, maintenance of study records and the overall direction and control of the work.


Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage and direct designated study teams to ensure profitability and reimbursability using best practice systems and processes
  • Contribute to the strategic management of the organisation
  • Co-ordinate and provide the appropriate resources to designated task forces so that studies are completed on time, fit for purpose and according to budget and client requirements, and of high quality
  • Contribute to the establishment, development and continuous improvement of systems and practices to enable studies and consulting services to be delivered more effectively and efficiently
  • Manage the process of preparation of designated study documents to ensure quality and accuracy of information
  • Pursue identified targets for studies and consulting services and subsequently market the company’s capability in order to win and secure work

Skills / Qualifications


The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering; alternatively a degree in another Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum 15 years' post graduate experience
  • Broad-based background in the Mining Industry
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure, liaising with and securing resources from functional heads and working groups
  • Client focused and partnering approach
  • Innovation and solutions focused
  • Ability to engage in systems design and implementation
  • Ability to establish relevant work practices
  • An understanding of strategic thinking and change management and an ability to translate this understanding into appropriate action
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to understand client requirements
  • Ability to see and plan across a broad range of project activities
  • Management, supervisory and co-ordination skills
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Taskforce leadership ability and appropriate team membership behaviour
  • An appreciation for the commercial aspects of study management
