  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood has an opportunity for a Lead Piping Engineer  There is an increased thrust to deliver our services for the growing Asian market  As a result of this, Piping operation is expanding and evolving to manage the challenges of regional projects that continue to pose challenges in offering our services through a global talent pool

    • Overall operation of the Piping group and the high quality and timely completion of their work within the established work hour budgets for the assigned project
    • Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, specifications, procedures, etc. produced with in the piping disciplines assigned to him
    • Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and standards
    • Adherence to Amec Foster Wheeler Engineering Procedure / Work Instruction for Design safety and to ensure the adoption of safe attitude towards engineering design that features affecting the safety and integrity of the project
    • Reviewing with the Project Engineering Manager, Area Project Engineers and other team members about all the needs and technical aspects which can affect the schedule of the project
    • Preparing, Reviewing, Issuing and follow up of all Piping Deliverables up to the issue for construction
    • Approving all Piping deliverables produced with in the Piping team, prior to initial and Construction Release
    • Ensure that the 3D model represents satisfactory design practice
    • Participate actively in FW internal and Client reviews of 3D Model, Plot Plan, Constructability etc
    • Assist Department head when required in preparation of proposals and in presentations to prospective clients
    • Providing “Feedback” to the Discipline Head concerning problems arising from application of standard methods and work procedures/instruction/technical practices and updates the same

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in LNG / Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical  Plant
    • Projects with about 5 years in lead position: LNG receiving terminal experience is a must. PMC experience is preferable highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and pro-activeKnowledge of Plot Plan / Equipment Layout development, Piping Layout, Piping
    • Materials, piping Stress Analysis and 3D Computer Aided Design like PDS / PDMS / SP 3D etcWorking experience in Design & Engineering team for Conceptual Studies, FEED, and EPC phases of grass-root and revamp projectsWorking experience as Lead Engineer for at least one LNG projectExperience in Cryogenic piping design and selection of Cryogenic piping materials
    • To handle overall operation of the Piping Specialists group to achieve high quality and timely completion of their work within the established work hour budgets for the assigned projectConversant with international codes and practices including all LNG relevant standards like NFPA 59A
