  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking to recruit a Construction Engineer Interface to manage the construction interfaces between various EPC package contractors and with external parties to identify potential conflict in scope, responsibilities and prevent delays to the project schedule.

     

    • Ensure good preparation and coordination of activities between EPC Contractors at the Interface Points around the site
    • Ensure EPC contractors perform sufficient preparations and assess all realistic problems and encourage the development solutions for interface activities such as tie-ins, testing, etc.
    • Ensure potential for schedule delays is minimised by planning ahead and encouraging EPC Contractors to coordinate closely on site based interfaces
    • Anticipate and understand site interface demarcations on documents such as P&IDs, Plot Plans and GAs
    • Work with EPC Contractors to ensure interface responsibilities are understood and potential problems identified
    • Review of Detailed Design documentation to assess consistency in the demarcation of interfaces
    • Focal point for EPC Contractors for all interfaces with other ZOR interfacing EPC contractors
    • Receive training in use of the Interface Management system and use the inter-EPC Contractor data as a reference
    • Prepare and conduct interface reviews with EPC Contractors in critical areas such as the main pipe racks, power distribution system and underground services
    • Issue regular interface management reports to PMC and customer management
    • Participate in the day-to-day interfacing between the projects, project managers and engineering and construction teams
    • Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required
    • Participate in Project reviews

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
    • Minimum industrial experience: 15 years
    • Experience in similar position: 5 years
    • Leadership and Team Building Skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of Refinery / Petrochemicals industries in handling construction work of major projects of value not less than US $ 500 million each
