Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Designer - Control & Instrumentation experienced in instrumentation design activities. 


  • Carry out design activities & complete design deliverables for Oil & Gas projects independently
  • Guide a team of designers
  • Adhere to project standards & procedures, quality & schedule requirement of the project
  • Generate and review Cable block diagram, Instrument location plans, Cable tray routing, JB & Panel layouts, MCT drawings, Cable Tray sizing, Hook-up drawings, Cable schedule etc.
  • Manage inter-discipline coordination
  • Execute PDS 3-D modelling of Instruments, JB, and Tray

Skills / Qualifications

  • Trade certificate of Industrial Training Institute in Instrumentation or Equivalent
  • Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control Engineering / Instrumentation or Equivalent (Desirable)
  • 12+ years of experience in Instrumentation design activities
  • Ability to check engineering design deliverables in a multi-discipline task force based engineering design environment (Desirable)
  • FEED / EPC experience - Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petro-chemical (desirable)
  • Expert in SPI (INtools) modules; Wiring - Loop Extraction, Instrument Index etc.
  • Good knowledge in International standards
  • Experience in clearing model “clash”
  • Experience in PDMS and SP3D modeling will be an advantage
  • Experience in Smart Plant review, 2D drawings in AutoCAD and Micro station
  • Conversant with QA / QC procedures - FEED / EPC experience - Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petro-chemical experience - Good Site experience required
