Overview / Responsibilities

Wood are currently recruiting for a Proposal Estimating Engineer to be based in Shinfield Park, Reading to strengthen our Estimating group.

Salary: £50,000 - £52,500 per annum

  

Working as a Proposal Estimating Engineer in a small professional team, you will help support the company's commercial proposal preparation efforts in securing new business with new and existing customers in a variety of upstream and downstream prospects.You will see the commercial development of the proposals from the initial strategy meetings, through the company's management approval process, to the submission of the Proposal and subsequent handover to operations of successfully awarded projects.

  • Reporting to the Manager, Proposal Estimating you will be responsible for all aspects of the services estimating for each individual proposal assigned to you
  • You will be required to ensure the accuracy and quality of the estimates you produce as well as those of the more junior estimating engineers under your supervision
  • You will be required to present complex costings and analysis to Senior management in a clear and coherent manner to enable them to make informed commercial decisions
  • Review client's ITBs to understand commercial requirements
  • Where required, attend commercial design meetings
  • Liaise with both technical and commercial disciplines to ensure adequate and timely inputs to the estimate are received

Skills / Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will be a highly numeric individual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You should have estimating experience in the oil and gas / petrochemical industry, preferably with at least 2 years services estimating experience, but this is not essential
