Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting a Pensions Administrator to work in our busy in-house pensions department, based in the Knutsford office on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role will be the administration of both final salary and money purchase schemes and knowledge of both is therefore a requirement.

The role is responsible for completing all aspects of Pensions administration including;

  • retirement quotes
  • resolving queries from schemes members
  • ensuring payments are received accurately, processing new entrants, renewals, leavers and deaths
  • drafting routine correspondence, transfers in and out, pension increases and liaising with third parties

There will also be the opportunity to get involved in a number of key, engaging projects on a regular basis including the production of benefit statements, year-end reconciliations, valuations and pension increases. You will report to the Pensions Administration Manager and will be required to work closely with colleagues to provide a full administration service. 

Skills / Qualifications

The successful applicant will have previous pensions experience within both the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution sector and be looking for an opportunity to progress in your career within this field. You will be required to play a key role within the team and be expected to ensure the smooth running of the schemes, that work is completed in line with Service Level Agreements and that quality levels are maintained.


The ideal candidate will have gained previous experience of administering Defined Benefits and Defined Contribution, possess excellent customer service skills, excellent Microsoft Office skills, as well as being an accurate and effective communicator. You will need to possess a basic understanding of Pensions industry regulations and current legislation, and should be ambitious, driven and confident of working in a high pressured environment.
