Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting a Structural Designer to further increase the capacity and knowledge base of Civil Engineering department and to replace one senior position in the role due to retirement. This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of Wood projects, in particular various revamping projects at different phases (feasibility, FEED, EPC) for important Clients. Surveys to the sites and short assignment may be required.

The Civil / Structural Designer is responsible for:

  • Executing of steel structures design in accordance with the applicable laws and standards requirements regarding Health, Safety and Environment. These activities shall be performed by means of 3D tools (Tekla mandatory, PDS, Smart Plant 3D or AVEVA E3D)
  • Complying with the applicable HSE requirements regarding to his health and safety care
  • Executing the assigned design activities in accordance with job requirements and time schedule following the instructions given by Engineer
  • Collecting data necessary for the design from other disciplines and by means of site surveys
  • Checking of the drawings following including those provided by third parties
  • Filing drawings and documents according to instructions
  • Observing the ethic of confidenti­ality on technologies licensed by clients or third parties


Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a related technical field
  • Ability to demonstrate a wealth of relevant experience in petrochemical or similar related industry
  • Have a sound technical background in civil engineering
  • Competencies in 3D modeling tools use (i.e. Tekla Structures, PDS, SP3D, E3D, Revit)
  • Experience in structures modularization
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Fluent in Italian
