  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is seeking applications from experienced Senior Project Engineers to support the Kemerton Lithium project based initially in our Perth Office and later onsite.

    The Albemarle Kemerton Plant is a world scale, greenfield Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate production plant to be located at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia, and 17 km north-east of the existing port town of Bunbury.

     The Albemarle Kemerton Plant will initially comprise of three (3) trains, each producing 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate. First product target by 2020. Expansion to five (5) trains will take the ultimate site production to 100,000 tpa by around 2025. Wood has been appointed by Albemarle to implement the Albemarle Kemerton Plant.


    We are looking for Senior Project Engineers to join our EPCM construction management team to work on this prestigious project looking after the civil concrete package. Reporting to the Package Manager you will be involved in all aspects of on site construction delivery with a focus on Concrete Structures.

    The ideal candidate will have experience of:

    • Managing construction contractors assisting them to achieve best for project outcomes
    • Reviewing project documents and raising technical queries related to project contract requirements
    • Influence and manage the HSE compliance of contractors
    • Providing engineering and technical advice to on-site supervisors and other project staff
    • Planning and scheduling the scope of work for the package
    • Selection and management of contractors and suppliers
    • Managing budgets and reporting progress versus spend
    • Ensuring client and statutory specifications are met throughout the project life cycle
    • Compiling and maintaining documents and quality records for the package

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
    • Minimum 10 years (Senior Project Engineer) or 7 years (Project Engineer) experience in the successful delivery of similar projects from start to finish
    • Proven track record as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer on large civil projects with exposure to concrete structures
    • A strong, demonstrable commitment to driving HSSE culture
    • Strong progress and financial reporting skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills
    • A positive, "can do" attitude
    • Extremely high client serving standards are essential
