  • Overview / Responsibilities

     

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Training Web Developer.

    The BEP Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).

    To work as an integrated member of the existing training team to support the Training Team Vision of “Becoming recognised as a training team that inspires trainers and learners” by developing easily accessible training products for Operations and Maintenance personnel by:

    • Work with Training Developers to produce end user focussed material/portals
    • Working within the security remits of the Sellafield Site
    • Writing code that is easy to understand
    • Ensuring code is robust enough to work under all use and edge cases it will run under
    • Working as closely to the project requirements without over-engineering and going beyond the scope of the brief
    • Communicate effectively with different departments
    • Strong editorial design is essential to make text heavy pages accessible and engaging
    • Ability to work alone, in a team, with remote teams
    • Previous experience of developing training packages/websites/learning management systems
    • Willing to travel to Sellafield Site
    • Creative with attention to detail
    • An interest in Learning Technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other designers

     

     

     

     

    Skills / Qualifications

     

     

    The ability to obtain BPSS and a P4 pass is essential for continuance in the role.

    • Knowledge & Application of Web Server technologies—e.g. J2EE,  HTML5/CSS
    • Knowledge & Application of Server-side programming languages—e.g. Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, SQL
    • Experience of CMS/LMS development, deployment, and maintenance
    • Experience of System and Data Analysis to create Visual Reports—e.g server load, visitor history/statistics
    • Experience of developing engaging Training products using a variety of media packages such as Captivate, Smart builder, InDesign, Photoshop.
    • Strong editorial design is essential to make text heavy pages accessible and engaging
    • Ability to work alone, in a team, with remote teams
    • Previous experience of developing training packages/websites/learning management systems
    • Willing to travel to Sellafield Site
