  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Amec Foster Wheeler has an opportunity for a Fire Protection Engineer. There is an increased thrust to deliver our services for the growing Asian market. As a result of this, our Process Engineering Department operation is expanding and evolving to manage the challenges of regional projects that continue to pose challenges in offering our services through a global talent pool.


    • Carry out fire protection work and related activities as assigned in project
    • Prepare the fire protection deliverables as assigned in project
    • Supervise the work of subordinates as assigned in accordance with the Project organisation
    • Provide assistance to other disciplines in accordance with Project requirements
    • Participate in design review meetings in accordance with Project requirements
    • Determine fire protection methods, fire detection methods
    • Design fire suppression and alarm systems
    • Develop, review and update fire prevention / protection standards and procedures
    • Perform hydraulic analysis and Consequence modeling
    • Prepare firefighting equipment datasheets

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Petrochemical, Refinery or Oil & Gas sectors
    • New Graduates are welcome
    • Experience in developing fire protection deliverables such as fire protection philosophy and firefighting equipment data sheet, etc.
    • Proven ability to coordinate fire protection teams
    • Experience in Fire Protection would be beneficial
    • Experience in Fire risk assessment
    • Good command of English
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
