  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Manager - Group Statutory Reporting. 


    The Senior Manager is responsible for the preparation of the group financial statements for a global FTSE 250 listed entity as well as the coordination of all UK and overseas entity statutory accounts. The role involves significant interaction with the Group’s auditors to ensure timely delivery of audit information and management of the Group audit process.


    This role will involve significant exposure to the Group’s auditors and senior Finance personnel across the Group, including the Group Financial Controller and Group CFO


    Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    • Manage preparation of Group Annual and Interim financial statements
    • Coordination of preparation of all UK and overseas entity statutory accounts 
    • Accounting for significant transactions including acquisitions disposals and group restructuring
    • Take responsibility for head office accounting in areas such as share based payments, pensions, intercompany financing and treasury
    • Work with the business and our ad-visors to ensure technical accounting matters relevant to the Group are correctly dealt with.    
    • Dealing with Group and entity auditors and ensuring they are provided with required information and explanations at the appropriate time
    • Interaction with Business Unit Finance teams to understand the business and operations
    • Work with entity simplification team to reduce the number of statutory audits across the Group
    • Development of standard goodwill/investment impairment models ensuring consistency of application across the Group



    Skills / Qualifications


    • Degree qualified
    • Further professional postgraduate accounting qualification (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW)

    Job specific experience:

    • A thorough understanding of accounting rules and regulations
    • Experience in a finance role within a complex global organization including exposure to multi currency consolidations
    • Ability to influence and challenge current thinking through clear, informed and logical argument and discussion

    Knowledge of:

    • International Financial Reporting Standards and how they are adhered to and applied
    • Disclosure requirements for UK listed companies
    • Detailed awareness of external factors and their impact on the Group’s financial strategy and performance
