  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, our Clean Energy team is now seeking to recruit a fluent French and English speaking candidate to join our solar photovoltaic (PV) team. The successful candidate will be based at our French office in Paris.

    • Manage/support the following assignments for solar PV projects (primarily in the megawatt scale): technical due diligence, construction/operation monitoring, handover verification, site inspections, performance analysis. Such assignments are undertaken on behalf of banks, investors and project developers.
    • Solar resource assessment and energy yield prediction.
    • Technical assessment of all PV plant equipment.
    • Review and prepare technical documents including specifications, reports, calculations and contracts.
    • Provide technical support to clients.
    • Prepare and review commercial offers.
    • Promote Wood Clean Energy services as required.

     

    Other duties may include but are not limited to:

     

    • Attending client meetings in France and abroad.
    • Representing the company at major conferences and seminars.
    • Mentoring graduate engineers and team members.
    • Conduct audits of PV module manufacturing facilities.
    • Other ad hoc activities as and when required.

    Skills / Qualifications

    Essential Criteria:

     

    • Master’s degree from a French engineering school or equivalent degree in engineering, mathematics or science based subject (electrical and civil engineering favourably considered).
    • Fluent French and English speaker (both in writing and speaking).
    • At least 2 years of utility-scale PV project experience.
    • Knowledge of the key technical and commercial aspects of solar projects.
    • Strong technical and commercial due diligence experience (i.e. experience in reviewing: design, technology/equipment, permitting and environmental requirements, contracts, financial model).
    • Knowledge of the applicable regulatory framework in France for PV projects (including permitting/environmental).
    • Experience in solar PV yield prediction software, e.g. PVSyst, PV*SOL.
    • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
    • Competent user of main Microsoft packages.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of project management techniques including program/cost/risk management.
    • Flexible and proactive approach is required.
    • The ability to produce high quality technical reports in English and to predefined deadlines.
    • Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-disciplined team.
    • A confident communicator.

     

    Desirable Criteria:

     

    • Electrical engineering capability (will be considered very favourably)
    • Experience working for a solar PV consultancy.
    • Civil/structural engineering capability.
    • MSc in renewable energy systems.
    • Technical asset management experience.
    • MSc in renewable energy systems.
    • Skills in languages other than English and French (e.g. Arabic, Spanish, German).
    • Experience of working on multiple concurrent projects
