    Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

     

    We would be looking to hire a number of Engineering professionals upon contract award. We will contact you if your CV was found suitable to discuss a project and position details.

     

    We are currently sourcing a Engineering Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;

     

    • The overall day-to-day management of engineering activities across a broad multi-disciplined team to achieve project objectives
    • Understands and manages the Technical Scope
    • Strategic development of resources and recruitment and Management of staff utilisation
    • Understands the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and ensures these are handled correctly
    • Identifies risk and implements mitigations
    • Familiar with project work sequence, activities and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines at any project phase with knowledge and understanding of a contract
    • Develops and manages the engineering input to the project schedule and drives the Engineering Team to comply with the requirements, meet milestones and Key Performance Indicator
    • Take full responsibility for the correctness and quality of all technical work executed as part of the project by personal involvement and by coordinating input of the Client technical expertise;
    • Ensures the project Quality Management System supports deliverables preparation and method of execution
    • Able to generate and authorise key documents including those directing Engineering strategy and implementation
    • Ensures instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitates agreement between conflicting requirements and leads way forward
    • Able to challenge working method and deliverables and ensures project team know and comply with project scope
    • Organise the Engineering Team and motivate its members towards successful achievement of specified project goals;
    • Ensures that requirements for Design Verification are identified, scheduled and resourced
    • External Client relations and Management

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Suite general products 
    • Demonstrably proactive, self-driven and assertive. High levels of influence and strong leadership capability.
    • Prior background in Engineering Management experience in Oil & Gas projects
    • Experience in Engineering and Designing compressor stations, pipelines, and meter stations for mainline gas transmission service.
    • Have a proven track record in Engineering Management and leading multi-discipline engineering teams
    • Be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work
    • Have a broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills
