    Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.


    We would be looking to hire a number of Engineering professionals upon contract award. We will contact you if your CV was found suitable to discuss a project and position details.


    We are currently sourcing a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;

    • Carry out work in accordance with Wood Group-STS and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
    • Able to lead a team of engineers and designers and should be able to take quick decision on the unresolved issues that may arise during the course of the project
    • Able to plan and deliver the quality engineering deliverable as per project planning to meet the project schedule
    • Follow company procedures and to prepare engineering deliverables from rough sketches to the highest quality and standards as instructed by Engineering Manager/Project Manager
    • Able to quickly access the resources required to carry out the project successfully with in the stipulated time, schedule and budget
    • Good design experience  on the Concrete structures, Steel structures and Architectural design are mandatory
    • Review and comment the vendor equipment documentation of basic to moderate complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project and Civil & Structural requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
    • Good years of experience in design the calculation and review of calculation/drawings for  onshore oil & gas projects, Concrete and Steel buildings, equipment foundations, OHL Tower foundations, Industrial structures, Steel Connection designs, road design, assist in design and drafting activities (Conceptual study, FEED & Detailed design)
    • Review of calculations, structural deliverables such as detailed design drawings and 3D model
    • Able to prepare specifications, standard drawings, etc to satisfy the client/project requirementsParticipation during constructability reviews and contribution there in shall be supported with adequate proof on large sized projects recently executed.
    • Maintain the standard of calculations/drawings produced
    • Good knowledge on reviewing the 2D drawings and 3D models
    • Has adequate knowledge of all international codes, standards and other construction practices to be utilised during FEED & EPC Phases of project execution. Additional experience with Middle East projects will be distinctly preferable. 
    • Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc.
    • Has detailed knowledge in all general civil & structural design and layout aspects such as Civil Site Layout, U/G Composite Layout, Road Layout etc



    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering 
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas industry.
    • Relevant software STAAD-Pro, Foundation 3D, MAT 3D, PROKON, STAAD-Pro Foundation Advanced
    • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
    • Able to work in MS Office Word, Excel
    • Able to communicate in good English with other disciplines in effective manner
    • Willing to have patience to face work pressure & changes
