  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Lead Construction Engineer – Electrical as a member of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team based in Kuwait, responsible for construction and completions delivery of KNPC’s LNG Import Project based in Al Zour.


    • Work on the project as a member of Wood’s Al-Zour LNG Import Project PMC team
    • Supervise construction and coordinate work at site to maximize the effectiveness of construction delivery to time, budget and quality objectives
    • Monitor, review and approve key construction documentation to support timely construction installation and completion
    • Monitor progress and review construction installation and completions by the EPC Contractor at site
    • Liaise with the EPC Contractor as required on behalf of KNPC and ensure assigned work is managed and delivered to KNPC satisfaction
    • Enhance and demonstrate commitment to raising HSE standards and propose new initiatives or improvements
    • Provide leadership, guidance and direction concerning all facets of construction, completions and their delivery
    • Review project studies and proposals for constructability and / or construction hazard identification
    • Monitor and review the EPC Contractor’s and their Subcontractors construction activities including resourcing thereof
    • Interface with KNPC and the EPC Contractor for formal and informal reviews on construction and safety related matters
    • Provide technical assistance to the construction supervision team and be responsible for site engineering activities
    • Coordinate and resolve field construction queries interfacing with engineering and completions
    • Assist in the review and approval of "sub-contractors" method statements
    • Approve “as built “drawings and participate in key KNPC reviews and meetings
    • Monitor, appraise and report to KNPC on quality and safety construction performed by the EPC Contractor and their Subcontractors / Vendors

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BSc. Engineering
    • Minimum 12 years’ post-graduation experience
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas, refining and petrochemical industries
    • Minimum three years of experience with reputed Consultants in the same / similar position is desirable
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Prior PMC experience is an asset
    • Prior Middle East experience is an asset
