    Position Summary

    Our Client is looking for a telecom engineer to support their offshore production facility and onshore infrastructure in Equatorial Guinea. Telecommunication position is an onshore 4x4 rotational position in Candy Vistamar, Paseo Maratimo Bata, Equatorial Guinea to support all IT and Telecommunication related workload.


    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Provide Telecoms expertise support in the implementation of the functional specification, design work and monitor Telecom discipline studies during detailed engineering (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting), procurement.
    • Review and participate actively in the development of the definition and the design of the Telecom systems and deliverables (Telecoms Index, design specifications, third party Interfaces, Fiber Optic network, Vendor drawings, etc.) for the PLANT.
    • To participate in the telecom meetings and related interface meetings.
    • Ensure coordination and integration of all systems both within and between scope of contractor, integrator, suppliers and vendors.
    • To promote alternatives for Telecom design to reduce and optimize costs and work at sites.
    • To anticipate problems that may arise and be prepared to react quickly.
    • To ensure that temporary and construction phase telecom systems (VSAT, radios,) are maintained.
    • To make the necessary Telecom technical arbitrations with approval from HQ.
    • Highlight critical problems and propose corrective actions as necessary.
    • To carry out any other duties or tasks that may be required by the position.
    • To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard HSE and HSE rules implementation
    • To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior about Ethics and project "code of conduct" policy
    • To participate to meetings with partners, authorities and other stakeholders as required.
    • Train other junior engineers.
    • Produce detail documentation and practice change control.

    Skills / Qualifications


    • Minimum 10 years international offshore oil and gas work experience as a Telecom Engineer.
    • Must hold Juniper routing/switching/Security (firewall) certifications
    • Graduate highly specialised Telecom engineer (BEng), with extensive experience of work as discipline specialist on large oil & gas project (both engineering and field).
    • Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.


    Required – Technical Skills

    • Fiber Optic Transmission System (SDH/PDH/IP)
    • Should have hands on experience in basic and detailed design engineering of Telecommunications systems for onshore / offshore O&G within clearly defined scope and standards.
    • Experience in the design of Telecommunication Systems such as SDH, PDH, Optical Transmission Network, Satellite Transmission Systems, Structured and Fiber optic cabling, LAN/WAN, legacy and IP telephone, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection and Public Address / General Alarm (PA/GA) systems is a must.
    • CCTV Surveillance System design, implementation and maintenance.
    • Avaya PABX configuration and maintenance. Telephone System /IP Telephony
    • Data LAN/Structured Cabling/Ethernet Switches/Voice, data multiplexers
    • UHF/VHF RADIO design
    • Hands on experience with Juniper switches, firewalls and Riverbed technologies.
