  • Overview / Responsibilities

    • Has experience in the hydrocarbon processing/utilities units, the oil/gas industry or refinery project/process industries
    • Has thorough knowledge in the refinery processes and project development, demonstrated experience in the project cycle, review processes, Hazops, design practices, simulations, heat and material balances development, process unit design, equipment design, hydraulic design / calculations, and experience in using design tools, guides, project codes and specifications
    • Has experience in the development of PFD's, P&IDs and all work related to project calculations and documentation development
    • Demonstrates ability to work effectively and deliver requirements in a timely manner
    • Should have knowledge of economic principles and impact of design changes on project cost and schedule
    • Experience with process simulators and related process engineering software
    • Experience sizing relief valves and control valves 
    • Experience sizing equipment including line sizing, separator sizing, pump sizing
    • Experience of industry standards
    • Familiarity with quality control systems in engineering design
    • Prepare work force staffing requirements and process schedules for small projects
    • Assist with proposals for small projects
    • Routinely communicate with Client counterpart on project
    • Routinely report job progress status
    • May supervise work of other process engineers assigned to the job
    • Prepare process simulations
    • Prepare PFD's with HandWB's
    • Prepare P&ID's and present to peers or Clients in in-house reviews
    • Perform hydraulic calculations
    • Prepare Process Equipment data sheets
    • Prepare instrument process data sheets
    • Prepare relief calculations and PSV process data
    • Prepare process data for line lists
    • Prepare process descriptions and/or study reports
    • Raising QMS issues with the Lead Engineer or the Head of Department. 

    Skills / Qualifications

    • 5 - 10 years’ Experience
    • PE registration or equivalent preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
    • Occasional field visits, climbing stairs, ladders and lifting up to 25 lbs
    • Potential visits to offshore sites (helicopter, boat)
    • Lifting and carrying things offshore
