  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with significant experience on High Voltage and Power systems to carry out design and engineering activities on Concept, FEED and EPC projects, for domestic and international clients. 


    Reporting to the Manager of the HV and Power Solutions department or to the assigned Project Specialty Leader, the main functions of the role and responsibility are as following:


    • Ensure timely production of deliverables associated with the Electrical Design Engineering aspects of assigned Concept, FEED or EPC Projects
    • Execute assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including Amec Foster Wheeler Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets
    • Prepare/develop single line diagrams, protections metering and functional diagrams, technical specifications and material requisitions for High Voltage equipment such as HV switchgears and auxiliaries, HV cables, Step up transformers, generator packages, EMS system and other electrical equipment, as necessary
    • Carry out power system studies
    • Review Vendors' quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable offer. Review Vendor drawings and documentation as per relevant practices
    • Support Electrical Design Section in relation to electrical matters and review of critical drawings.
    • Liaise with the Process Engineering Department at all stages of the project where equipment has a particular influence on the process design philosophy
    • Liaise with Mechanical and Project Engineering Groups in relation to electrical equipment associated with packages
    • As Project Specialty Leader, manage teams of Electrical Engineers and Designers on assigned projects, as well as facilitate effective work sharing with other execution centers

    Carry out other duties assigned by the Department Manager and in particular:

    • Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures
    • Assist in the development and training of personnel including graduate engineers when requested
    • Participate in proposal activities as required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in High Voltage Power Plants and Power Distribution Projects
    • Conversant with international codes and standards of electrical power systems. Familiar with PC based software for electrical system studies/calculations such as ETAP and PTW SKM
    • Experience on greenfield new builds and brownfield modification projects
    • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
    • Attitude to promote an open and informal communication environment to strengthen mutual trust and teamwork
    • Italian language speaking (mother tongue). Fluent written and spoken English
