  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for Electrical and Instrument Designer.

    • Design and layout of Electrical & Instrument (E&I) systems
    • Prepare E&I Deliverables e.g. cable schedules, interconnection and termination diagrams, Cable tray routing drawings, installation detail drawings
    • Prepare electrical loop diagrams
    • Prepare electrical power supply system for field instruments
    • Prepare lighting and small power layout drawings
    • Prepare earthing and lightning protection layout drawings
    • Prepare E&I MTO’s
    • 3D Modelling for E&I Works
    • Prepare material requisitions for bulk materials and technical bid evaluations
    • Review suppliers’ documents
    • Preparation of specification for electrical installation and test procedures
    • Site verification check, Construction supervision, testing and commissioning support

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience for Junior of Electrical or Instrument designer in Upstream (preferred) / Refinery Petrochemical / Chemical/Power/Pharmaceutical Plant Projects
    • Knowledge international codes & standards
    • Able to use electrical and instrument design / drafting software for 2D drawings and 3D modelling i.e. Autocad, PDS, PDMS, Smart Plant Electrical
    • Ability to use Microsoft Access Database software to create / modify any Electrical reports and schedules
    • Computer skills on special program i.e. INtools and lighting Design Software would be advantageous
    • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
    • Possess good interpersonal skills with good written and spoken in English
    • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
    • Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
