  • Overview / Responsibilities

    • Job Accountabilities:
    • Apply a culture of safe survey practice, including supervising and monitoring survey contractors in their continuing development of the same
    •  Application of the Geomatics Technical Specifications to work executed by contractors
    •  Monitor the Contractor adherence to  HSE and Geomatics technical standards
    • Engage a culture of safe survey practice
    • Show / develop familiarity with the survey & Geomatics requirements of RoK state compliance organizations
    • Participate and checking of technical documentation and survey equipment from Geomatics Contractors
    •  Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures & guidelines for survey operations in line with group minimum standards for Geomatics
    • Stipulate development of own competencies - with support of management to be able to progress in due course to role as a Survey Supervisor
    • Provide technical support on survey issues to operations which will include but not limited to:
    •  coordinate calculations
    •  creating maps and drawings with AutoCAD
    •  making survey programmes and Scopes of Work
    •  quality control (QC) of survey data
    •  Integrate offshore/onshore As Built works with GIS Advisors
    •  organize weekly tracking schedule of planned and current survey operations offshore/onshore
    •  day to day coordination of survey activities for construction and engineering offshore/onshore
    • liaison on daily base with progressed, intermediate and final results of survey services with Site  Offshore/Onshore Construction Coordinator
    • conducting initial QA of all received reports from contractors and prepare review on behalf of Survey Coordinator / Survey Lead. coordinate assistance requirements from Geomatics personnel at other offshore/onshore locations
    • present weekly overview of conducted surveys offshore/onshore sites and highlight status of work preformed
    • ensuring that contractors are utilizing standard survey reporting formats for DPR, procedures, field report, HSE issues and As-Built reporting on offshore/onshore locations
    • verification of contractor’s equipment and collecting of required documentation prior to start field

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Qualification & Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree or Master degree in Geodesy &Cartography, or relative disciplines such as Geology & Geophysics and other Earth Sciences
    • Detailed knowledge of Onshore/Offshore Survey Operations and Geodesy
    • 5 years of defining, implementing and coordinating Onshore and offshore Survey operation projects in depth knowledge of the acquisition and processing /reporting particularly for Engineering and Construction purposes in Oil & Gas industry
    • Position requires a developing Geomatics professional with good knowledge of spatial data acquisition and related field onshore and offshore techniques. He/she should have a good understanding of digital mapping systems, including the capabilities of ArcGIS
    • Experience with projects dealing with major pipeline and petrochemical facilities is highly desirable along with a minimum of 3 years experience in OU type environments with responsibilities including data acquisition, processing and management
    • Exposure to offshore survey equipment including at least two (2) of ROVs, ROTV, towed and vessel mounted acoustic systems. OR
    • Experience with land and geodetic survey equipment and techniques, including understanding of error sources, calibrations and field checks on survey equipment.
    • Exposure to processing survey data, bathymetric, topographic
