  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Asset Manager in our London office. The objective of the role will be to support clients in their role as an Asset Steward and if required, accreditation to ISO 55000.


    The successful candidate will be expected to be able to apply asset management principles across a range of infrastructure sectors such as; transport, waste, water, defence, health and housing. 


    The role will entail working closely with Infrastructure clients to develop/further define their asset management objectives strategically but also operationally, working closely with client and Wood subject matter experts to do so.


    The successful candidate will work alongside the Data Analytics team to undertake data driven analysis of client asset management objectives and deliver this analysis through a range of digital asset management systems.  In some cases, the successful candidate will work with clients to develop, design, procure and implement a digital asset management system for the client.


    The role offers the opportunity to work across all service lines within Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions and connect with peer teams across the globe ensuring shared learning and development for the successful candidate.


    As a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has a wide range of service agreements with major IT vendors in which the successful candidate can utilise in their role and focus their development with the company.


    Successful candidate will be based in London, but required to travel regionally and nationally as per role and project needs.


    Prime responsibilities for the role are:

    • Development and appraisal of client CAPEX investment options. Translation of investment options into detailed investment plans that support client asset management strategy and objectives.
    • Application of whole life cost principles, utilising Wood digital asset management systems. Define, track, analyse and verify OPEX unit cost data.
    • Management of asset creation/acquisition/disposal methodologies for clients. Associated business case and options development where asset life extensions may be required.
    • Identify, measure and evaluate asset related risks and potential disruptions to critical asset management activities and infrastructure. Ensure/identify the technical/non-technical resources needed for contingency planning.
    • Develop, maintain and communicate asset management plan(s) and specific asset policies. Measure effectiveness of plans, implementing adjustments where required.

    Management Skills, Knowledge and Experience



    • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of stakeholder, both internally and externally
    • Able to establish clear client requirements, communicating plans effectively back to clients
    • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and new content in a very broad range of situations
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and contribute with a problem-solving, investigative and innovative skillset
    • Able to work at pace and under pressure
    • A strong communicator with keen observation skills and critical thinking ability



    • Experience in preparing bids for professional services


    Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience



    • Knowledge of principles and methods of strategic management and business planning
    • Ability in determining procurement strategies applicable to the acquisition or creation of assets including management of materials, logistics and supply chains
    • Ability to use relevant software programmes to determine deterioration of assets, impact on integrated system effectiveness and techniques for cost and performance analysis



    • Previous application of novel solutions within a client environment
    • Experience of working directly with clients to provide advice and guidance on investment decisions
    • Relevant knowledge of national and international legal and regulatory frameworks


    Qualifications and Accreditations


    Bachelors degree in engineering with relevant Masters degree
