  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood are recruiting for a HSE Lead for the Axiom Design services framework working across the Sellafield Ltd sites and offices supporting Design and Engineering functions and projects. The HSE Lead will have extensive experience in the identification of hazards and mitigation of HSSE risks across all stages of the nuclear project life cycle. The HSE Lead for AXIOM, will work across all the partner organisations to establish consistent HSE performance and processes. The role consists of providing HSE Advice and early involvement with AXIOM Management Team.

     

    This is a key influential and responsible role to support the HSE elements of work and the individual will need to very proactive and possess a high degree of tenacity, drive and resilience.

     

    Ideally qualified to:

    • NEBOSH Diploma (Essential)
    • HSE auditing qualification (Desirable)
    • Environmental qualification (Desirable)

    Skills / Qualifications

    Preferential Experience

    • Chartered Member of IOSH
    • Knowledge of OHSAS 18001/450001.
    • Experience and knowledge of CDM processes and the application to correctly advise the framework.
    • Familiar with Sellafield project delivery procedures.
    • SC Security Clearance
    • At least five years’ experience in a Senior HSE Adviser role.
    • Previous knowledge of Professional Services framework would be an advantage but not

    Role Requirements

    • Provide positive leadership within your area of operation and promote the adoption of best practice.
    • Promote an enthusiastic HSE culture that delivers positive commitment to and engages all employees in continuous improvement in HSE performance.
    • In conjunction with the Programme Director actively promote and implement a programme to reduce business miles driven by AXIOM personnel.
    • Promote Wellbeing and Occupational health across AXIOM
    • In conjunction with the Management Team actively promote and implement a single Safety Observation reporting system for the AXIOM framework.
    • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSE management system and progress against the AXIOM HSE Performance Standards. Make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
    • Monitor and report on operational HSE performance and make recommendations for improvement. Monitor to ensure that effective action is taken.
    • Lead and provide functional management for any HSE personnel under their control.
    • Assist with the identification of HSE training needs, and monitor delivery and recording.
    • Monitor and report on the implementation of the approved HSE objectives.
    • Produce HSE performance reports as required.
    • Promptly alert line and functional management to significant accidents and incidents.
    • Where appropriate be involved in the investigation and ensure that the findings are Reported.
    • Review accident and incident reports and investigation reports, identify any trends and ensure that there is an appropriate response to prevent future recurrence.
    • Undertake a review of the current Safety Management System and those of the Partner Organisations and provide feedback to the Management Team on a regular basis.
    • Continue the AXIOM Safety Café culture
