  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is recruiting a Telecommunications Engineer for a major PMC project in Kuwait.

     

    The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is implementing a major project, the Clean Fuel Project (CFP) which comprises the upgrade of two existing refineries. The Clean Fuels Project is a major upgrade and expansion of the existing Mina Al-Ahmadi (MAA) and Mina Abdullah (MAB) refineries. The objective is to increase the overall throughput by 264,000 bpsd to 800,000 bpsd, and to increase conversion of fuel oil to higher value products to meet expected market demand and specs for low sulphur content transport fuels.

     

    • Perform a high standard and quality of work with respect to engineering and design deliverables
    • Assist as necessary with respect to department needs
    • Provide technical support, e.g. prepare Technical Work Practices (TWP’s), Standards, Technical consistency modules (TCM’s) and provide input to TED.net
    • Update and develop in house software applications
    • Lead a team in a multi-disciplined project environment, to produce deliverables on schedule, of the correct quality and technical content
    • Chair technical meetings
    • Raise technical and execution issues to the Chief Engineers within the department for resolution
    • Be flexible with respect to project and department needs with respect to travel for short and long durations

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or suitable discipline (BSc or BEng) is a minimum
    • Proven track record in a similar position with a strong background in telecommunication engineering (petrochemical / refinery engineering design environment)
    • A strong and self-motivated individual with good communication skills is required to enable effective dealings with both owners and contractors
    • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
