  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood are currently recruiting for a Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance Engineer (contract) to service and repair equipment at our large Shinfield Park offices in Reading.


    Working on a 2 shift basis 0730 – 1600 and 1230 – 2100 on alternate weeks, the succesful candidate will also work on a 1 week in 4 stand-by/ call out system for out of hours emergencies.


    The job consists of routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, installations and general duties as required, including;

    • Carry out all planned work tasks and inspections within the timescale allotted
    • Carry out reactive and emergency maintenance repairs
    • Check, monitor and adjust building management systems to ensure efficient question of the services, plant and equipment
    • Data input to the computer aided facilities management system
    • Carry out minor installation works
    • Ensure risk assessments are carried out and that safe working practices are adhered to
    • Undertake specific work as directed by Assistant Facilities Manager – Building Services

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship and/or accredited mechanical / electrical installation qualification
    • Basic site / office health and safety course / certificate / card
    • Experience of working in mechanical maintenance or installation works in a commercial environment
    • Ability to work in teams and own initiative
