Due to continuing success in the industrial, transport and infrastructure sectors, we are looking to recruit a Senior or Principal Air Quality Consultant into our London team, based in prestigious offices in Canary Wharf, Docklands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Air Quality Management professional with a successful track record in project delivery and business development to join our long-established and growing air quality team within the Environmental Assessment business unit.
You will join an enthusiastic and supportive team and will experience a challenging and fulfilling working environment. The current team workload covers the full range of technical expertise (air quality monitoring, assessment, modelling and abatement/mitigation scenarios) and we also specialise in odour monitoring, modelling, assessment and abatement. Our projects cover several markets, including planning, the manufacturing and chemical industry, oil & gas, waste management, wastewater treatment, transportation and Local Air Quality Management (LAQM). In addition, we support our Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) colleagues on major infrastructure projects in the aviation, transport, nuclear new-build and industrial sectors. Our team also provides expert witness services to a number of clients. There are significant opportunities for ongoing and structured career development within the air quality management field, across Wood’s wider Environment & Infrastructure consultancy business.
Your responsibilities will include managing and directing air quality projects across a broad portfolio of private and public sector clients, with projects typically including road traffic dispersion modelling, industrial source dispersion modelling, odour measurement and modelling, and providing technical mitigation advice to reduce odour impacts.
Building on a strong technical foundation, you would manage and deliver air quality projects, support other senior team members in the technical development of more junior staff and promote best-practice across the service. You would provide active support to, and where appropriate lead, group-wide business development activities by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships and developing project proposals. In addition, we have a growing portfolio of involvement in international air quality projects, working with our Wood colleagues in other parts of the world, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to or lead assessments, if desired. Recent international projects include those in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Tunisia, Croatia and Bulgaria.
You will ensure the excellence of our technical delivery, grow an existing team and elevate the profile of our work. You will seek opportunities to demonstrate sector leadership, develop new products and services and grow our market share. You will have a key role in helping the Environmental Appraisal business unit and Wood E&IS UK achieve our future growth targets and an important part of the position will involve continuing development of our “Business as Usual” air quality market in the UK.
