  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for experienced Senior Electrical Engineers with design and construction experience to support the Kemerton lithium project based in our Perth Office. The successful candidates with join the project to team and form the link between the design and construction.

    Albemarle Kemerton Plant, a greenfield world scale Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate production plant to be located at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia, and 17 km north-east of the existing port town of Bunbury.

     

    The Albemarle Kemerton Plant will initially comprise of three (3) trains, each producing 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate. First product target by 2020. Expansion to five (5) trains will take the ultimate site production to 100,000 tpa by around 2025. Wood has been appointed by Albemarle to implement the Albemarle Kemerton Plant.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Review E&I Engineering design deliverables for constructability
    • Liaise with E&I contractors to communicate the design deliverables and engineering strategy
    • Ensure alignment between contractor scope and engineering deliverables
    • Develop E&I construction contract(s) scopes of work
    • Work with a capable team of engineers and designers to complete the project
    • Adhere to the project schedule
    • Review vendor documentation
    • Provide technical support to the onsite construction teams, projects department and estimating department
    • Integrate vendor information in design documents and drawings
    • Review the project 3D model and design drawings
    • Perform site inspections, functionality testing and commissioning documentation

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Electrical Engineering Degree
    • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
    • 10+ years’ experience in the resources and/or minerals processing industries. Lithium process plant experience highly regarded.
    • Construction experience, with contract management
    • Design office experience
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a small team and meet deadlines
    • Sound technical engineering knowledge
    • Ability to problem-solve effectively
    • Effective communication skills
    • Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
    • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
    • Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards, International standards
    • Ability to travel to site if required
