  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is actively seeking a Senior Subsea Controls Engineer to join the team based in Perth, Western Australia.  The successful candidate will be focussed on delivering solutions for our client’s subsea assets in Western Australia and the APAC region.  This position is directly related to an immediate client requirement for an initial six months.  The role reports to the Manager – Drilling; Subsea Systems, Structures and Risers and is an immediate requirement for an enthusiastic and resilient engineer.

     

    Having consulted on multiple projects we employ technical experts in the areas of project management, Subsea hardware, Subsea controls/distribution, flow assurance, pipelines, risers, facilities engineering as well as project administration support.  Wood engages talented individuals who are resilient, adaptable and wish to build their careers and be recognized for their efforts and expertise.  

     

    At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

    • Provide Subsea Controls Engineering expertise to support ongoing and new project work
    • Ensure design optimization and application of appropriate codes / standards
    • Contribute and work effectively with project team, project management, site personnel and the client as appropriate
    • Provide support to multi-discipline engineering team during various phases of project lifecycle
    • Utilise a full cycle learning process to implement lessons learned to capture opportunities and work for continuous improvement
    • Contribute to the development of start-art-technology and it is application throughout the engineering phase for cost effective and optimum solutions including application of value added engineering throughout assigned works
    • rovide technical assistance, coordination and liaise with other departments/business units within the Company on all aspects covering technical and general requirements

    Skills / Qualifications

    We are seeking a resilient individual, possessing a positive attitude along with effective interpersonal and problem solving skills.

    • Degree in Engineering ideally with recent relevant subsea experience
    • 12+ years in the Oil & Gas industry / Engineering Consultancy
    • Experienced working with SPS vendors
    • Demonstrated effective technical report writing and communication skills and ability to deliver confident conference presentations
    • Willingness to travel if required
    • Ability to manage technical ambiguity, trouble shooting and problem solving
