  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is seeking applications from experienced Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineers for a gold project executed out of our Perth Office.

    Joining a small, dynamic team to commission the process and associated infrastructure, our successful candidate will commence initially with the design team in Perth, then move on to site.  It is anticipated that our successful candidate will spend some time in Adelaide testing switch-rooms and associated equipment.


    Please note that this role is open to applicants with full work rights for Australia already in place.

    • Development of Commissioning plans
    • Develop Commissioning check sheets
    • Development of switching and isolation procedures
    • Completion and documentation of system commissioning
    • Work with a capable team of engineers and designers to complete the project
    • Interpret 3D and 2D design deliverables
    • Adhere to the project schedule
    • Review vendor documentation
    • Provide technical support to the onsite construction teams
    • Review the project 3D model and design drawings
    • Perform site inspections, functionality testing and commissioning documentation
    • Accountable for the quality of deliverables in line with the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Electrical Engineering Degree
    • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
    • 7+ years’ experience in the resources industry. Gold process plant experience highly regarded.
    • Process commissioning experience
    • HV Switching qualifications / experience
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a small team and meet deadlines
    • Sound technical engineering knowledge
    • Ability to problem-solve effectively
    • Effective communication skills
    • Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
    • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.
    • Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards, International standards and the WA Mines Safety and Inspection regulations
    • Ability to travel to site on FIFO basis
