    Join our collaborative team, working side by side with a global specialist chemicals company on a new and innovative project in the growing Lithium resources market to design, engineer and construct a world class processing facility.   We have a diverse range of opportunities within our Perth office and further positions in the South West.


    The greenfield project targeted to go into production in 2020 will produce Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate from a 3 train processing plant with a forecasted 60,000 per annum (Tpa) output. Further expansion plans into 2025 will see a total production of 100,000 tonnes per annum. The plant is to be constructed at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia and 17 km north-east of the thriving regional centre of Bunbury.


    Position Specifics and Deliverables

    • Preparing schedules for engineering and managing calculations, drawings, data sheets, technical queries, specifications and other technical design documentation as required
    •  Provide technical engineering advice to engineers and designers as required to support engineering project delivery
    • Supervising related resources, timing and HSSEQ requirements in accordance with the requirements of the Company, statutory and regulatory requirements and scope of work.
    • Provide technical engineering assistance as required when proposals are to be submitted
    • Supervise team of engineers and designers as required to oversee and deliver engineering projects
    • Develop strong networks and relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and planning authorities, in order to effectively manage and deliver engineering projects
    • Supervise and manage engineering project budgets to mitigate risks and ensure that projects are delivered in a cost-effective manner
    • Identify potential problems in respect of budgets, schedules and engineering standards
    • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant engineering legislation, standards and codes as they apply to projects, and ensure that all engineering work adheres to applicable regulation and requirements
    • Check work delegated to other engineers for accuracy and adherence to required codes, standards and project requirements
    • Formally approve technical design documentation developed by engineers and designers
    •  Identify Piping resource capabilities and assign work in accordance with these capabilities within the project team, in accordance with the deliverables schedule
    • Assist in developing a prioritised project workload and resource requirements with the Principal Mechanical/Piping Engineer and/or Project Manager
    • Assist in sourcing and interviewing prospective Mechanical/ Piping Engineer resources and make recommendations to the Principal Mechanical/Piping Engineer as to their capability
    • Provide mentoring for staff and work experience personnel
    • Ensure that all Mechanical/ Piping deliverables have been prepared, checked and approved in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance system

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Competency in Microstation
    • At least seven years’ experience in Piping design
    • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Piping design/drafting
    • Strong knowledge in applying relevant industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate mechanical/piping/pipeline requirements to other members of the project team
    • Ability to deliver best practice plant/piping design, with emphasis on cost-effective engineering
    • Mentoring and Coaching ability
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to identify risks and work safely
    • Ability to travel to site if required
