  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for Senior Process Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

    This position will report directly to Lead Process Engineer.

    This is office based live-in position (not rotational method) with normal working hours.

    Will show commitment and will be expected to take responsibility for coordinating the work of team members in the absence of the lead engineer. Achieve required quality of design intent and safety.


    Basic Functions

    Develops design assignments with the relevant detail required using or adapting established methods or systems and/or developing original methods. Completes assignments independently with minimal supervision. Actively trains and encourages the development of junior engineering staff to fulfil discipline engineering role.


    Principal Responsibilities

    Process engineering services to Client ranging from conceptual, front-end, detailed design, as-built and close-out activities for timely delivery of project deliverables according to approved schedules(s). Completes a variety of complex process engineering computations, HYSYS simulation (steady and dynamic) modelling, prepare P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, instruments and equipment data sheets, utilities and chemicals summaries.

    Performs hydraulics and overpressure/blowdown calculations and participates in safety reviews.

    Hands-on approach to engineering problem solving and commissioning experience of offshore and or drilling systems would be an advantage.

    Has good experience with FEED Studies, specifically on Offshore Processing Platforms.

    Skills / Qualifications

    Minimum of 6 years Process Engineering design engineering related experience within the Hydrocarbon industry and more specific in the Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas production industry. Able to apply the theories, codes and standards appropriate to the discipline. Familiarity to work with the Shell DEP’s will be an advantage.

    Able to work as a team member and to take advantage of and contribute to the use of common information pools. Have concise report writing skills in Professional English language.

    Candidate competencies, not limited to:

    Knowledge of fundamentals of both static and rotating equipment design and analysis.

    Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards. Familiarisation and past use of the Shell DEP would be advantages.

    Familiar with HYSYS, Dynamic HYSYS preferred.

    Experience of participation in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies is essential.

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

    The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Process engineering preferably in Oil and Gas industry.

    Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.

    Degree in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.).
