  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced People & Organisation (P&O) Manager for the STS Business Unit in the UK.

     

    Reporting to P&O Director for Subsea & Export Systems, the successful candidate will have a strong employee relations background and be a skilled facilitator.

     

    • Functional line manager for UK STS P&O business partners for the following Service Lines in the UK:
      • Technology & Consulting
      • Subsea & Export Systems
      • Automation & Control

    ensuring that they work collaboratively and cohesively, maintaining consistency within the function in the UK, managing performance and promoting their continuous professional development

     

    • P&O Business Partner to Senior VP of Asset Integrity Solutions (AIS) Service line and member of global leadership team
    • Provides support and advice to AIS and the wider STS business on all aspects of policy, employment legislation and employee relations
    • Provides input to the review and development of policies, procedures and systems and takes an active role in implementing these consistently throughout STS in the UK
    • Maintains an up to date understanding of the short, medium and long term strategic and operational requirements of the business by developing and maintaining highly effective and focused relationships with client groups and closely aligns support to their business objectives
    • Organisational and people capability building, through talent management, succession planning and career development
    • Helps Business Leaders understand and address the people implications of business decisions
    • Advises on the people implications of organisational change, management of re-organisations and TUPE transfers
    • Supports future growth by providing all aspects of P&O support to requests for information, tenders & bids. Helping to maintain suite of best practice answers.
    • Embeds a performance management culture within the business area as a means of driving business improvement
    • Manages complex employee relations issues
    • Provides the interface between the business and specialist areas (Centre of Excellence) and P&O Service Centre
    • Undertakes projects for business improvement
    • Provides input to the review and development of People & Organisation policies and procedures for the UK

    Skills / Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Degree level qualified (desirable)
    • Full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD), or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of experience
    • Evidence of continuing professional development

    Minimum Experience:

    • Previous Business Partner or HR Management Level experience, including managing a team of HR consultants or advisors
    • Extensive experience working within employee engagement
    • Leadership & Management towards high performance experience
    • Experience of successfully developing, leading and implementing strategy, policy or operational plans
    • Proven ability to develop a good understanding of business issues/commercial awareness and how to identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs
    • A proven track record in project management
    • Strategic HR experience
